Costume Collaboration

March 22, 2018
The cre-a-tion dance collective  is producing a dance piece to be performed at the “Day de Dada Dress-Up/Show-off” event on April 29, 2018 at Westbeth Community Space in Manhattan and June 23, 2018 at BeYoga in Staten Island.

The Dance is a tribute to the pleiades star cluster, also known as the seven sisters, bold women corresponding with the seven chakras. Performers include Simone Johnson, Alyssa Rapp, Beth Gorrie, Rosita Roldan, Mary Campbell, and Melisande Echanique.

A costume collaboration was arranged with members of Day de Dada and cre-a-tion dance collective.   Fabrics, trimmings, and supplies were gathered by Tamara Wyndham, Margaret Chase,  and Leslie Lowe.   Both groups met at Mary Campbell’s studio at Snug Harbor to cut, sew, and design.   Tamara manned the sewing machine, Viv de Dada worked the pin cushions, and Mary Campbell arranged yards and yards of fabric.
