Day de Dada Performance Art Collective produces events based on concepts of the Dada and Fluxus art movements who used chance, nonsense and word play.

Since its first show in 2002, Staten Island based, “Day de Dada” has grown to include spontaneous and experimental performance art, installations, video, film, music, noise and interactive events that take place throughout the year. Events have included artists of all ages and backgrounds from Staten Island, the Tri State area, the further United States and Europe.

Viv Vassar and Mary Campbell, the collaborative team and organizers of “Day de Dada” are also participants in the international Fluxus community and participate in Fluxfests – gathering of artists inspired by and in continuation of the Fluxus movement.

“Animal Metamorphosis” Day de Dada Art Nurses
Recycle the usual into the unique. Be creative.  Customize, renew,
transfigure. Spontaneous and experimental mutations will take place.
Stuffed animals will be treated and healed.

“Dada Deconstructo: Sound Poems” Margaret Chase
Dada poems, mainly sound poems…(Kurt Schwitters, Raoul Hausmann, Hugo Ball…)

“Build It With Bottles” Barbara Lubliner
Using her plastic bottle building system and the assistance of volunteers,
Barbara will build octahedrons, tetrahedrons, as well as unnamed shapes.

“You’re Nothing But a Pack of Cards” Leslie Lowe
Creates silhouettes of crows and cats on black paper.

“Energize Water” Milenka Berengolc
Prepared water the seven colors of the chakras with transformed
energy, are served to people as they share about their discomforts, their dis-eases, their desires.
