Second Saturday Spoken Word at Art on the Terrace

February 27, 2016

Second Saturday Spoken Word at Art on the Terrace is looking for performance artists, writers, lyricists, poets, and musician to share their unique point of view.    Come one, come all and share your words.  Or watch, listen and enjoy – we need audience members too 🙂

Recently several Day de Dada Artists have appeared at Art on the Terrace to spread the Dada Word.

Db Lampman showed her film “Home” which is an experimental video inspired by the experience of pregnancy
and is an exploration into the idea of the womb as a place of origin.
The audio track is composed of recorded actual womb sounds that have been mixed
so that they are sometimes comforting, sometimes menacing, sometimes hypnotic.

Day de Dada at Second Saturday SI March 2012

March 16, 2012

On Second Saturday March 10, 2012   Day de Dada traveled to Manhattan to attend the Free Art for Fair Exchange at the 2012 Armory Show – an Occupy Museums Action.  We brought a piece of art created at a Day de Dada  art recycle event and exchanged art with Catalina and Colby.

Coming back to Staten Island we brought the new piece to the Second Saturday Art Walk, to CPG Gallery, the Spaghetti dinner at the Unitarian Church of Staten Island and finally to “Second Saturday on the Edge” at Edgewater Hall.  A good time was had by all.

Art and culture are part of the commons. Art is not a luxury item.

People are invited to enter the back seat of the van one at a time and instructed to fasten their seatbelt.  Mary C  and Viv Dada  are in the front seat.  Viv Dada asks the passenger, “Tell me a story about riding in a car.”  Mary records the answers.

Once the story is done, Viv Dada says, “We’re here.  Thanks.  Be careful getting out of the car.”  The passenger takes off their seat belt, gets a piece of candy from Mary C and gets out of the van.
