Attending Fluxfest NYC 2023

Fluxfest NYC 2023 (Oct 12 – 15) will include multiple events in Staten Island, Manhattan, including performance events at Westbeth, Art in Odd Places, and other venues TBD. Saturday events on Staten Island will include a tour of the Day de Dada exhibit “Dada in the House- 20 Years in Staten Island” at the Newhouse Galleries at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and a live and streaming performance event at ETG Book Cafe. This year’s events are being organized by Day de Dada Performance Art Collective (Mary Campbell, Lydia Grey, and Viv Vassar). Day de Dada is based in Staten Island and consists of a fluctuating assortment of artists who produce experimental performance art, installations, video, film, music, and sound pieces.

  • Snug Harbor to and from Ferry – take the S40 along Richmond Terrace (about 1 mile), bus stop is in front of Snug Harbor’s front gate

Lyft and Uber – check prices on the app. Uber or Lyft have pick-up and drop-off areas at the Staten Island and Whitehall (Manhattan) Ferry Terminal.

Places to Stay

Snug Harbor Cottages: These small houses on the grounds of Snug Harbor are basic accommodations. Each cottage has bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Snug Harbor has graciously made them available to us at no charge. They are available on a first come first served basis – for more information contact vivian.vassar@gmail.com

Hotels, Air B&B in Staten Island –

Please check a map carefully for location and keep transportation in mind.

  • Air B&B – Please keep in mind that NY has a new law about short-term stays. It is currently not in force but may be enforced by October 2023. Please check the Air B&B site for additional places as they come on and off the market.
