MAIL ART CALL for an exhibit “DADA DOMICILE”

Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, Snug Harbor Cultural Center in Staten Island, NY October 14 through December 2023

“DADA DOMICILE” produced by the Day de Dada Collective will be an exhibit of Dada/Fluxus-inspired furniture and household items that are doll-sized and displayed in structures of 1:6 scale (Barbie doll size- but NO DOLLS will be part of the exhibit).

ALL work received on the theme (Dada/Fluxus inspired doll-sized furniture) will be exhibited except for anything offensive (racist, pornography, etc.)

Please note there will be NO RETURN of work after the exhibit, everything will become part of the Day de Dada archives

No fee to participate

What are we looking for? Your unconventional chairs and beds and tables and rugs and kitchen appliances… your ideas of what would be in a house with a twist to the usual. Doll houses were originally created for adult display purposes and this will be a collaborative art piece with that objective.

We are requesting three-dimensional (3D) work to include in the structures and also displayed on the walls. We will install the submissions in structures that can be viewed from several sides. Some 2D work may also be displayed on the walls.
